Our dedicated team of "Dental Magicians" prides itself in offering optimal comprehensive dental care, focusing on a gentle female approach.

Lead by our super gentle Principal Dentist, Dr Ania Simonow, our "All-Female" team is committed to meeting our patients' highest professional, clinical and administrative expectations, with the utmost quality and integrity.

Dr Ania Simonow

Ania MugshotAnia, our dedicated Principal Dentist, completed her Bachelor of Dental Science at the University of Western Australia, graduating with Honors in 2003. Her commitment to excellence and passion for Cosmetic Dentistry and Periodontics during her study at UWA resulted in her winning both the Australian Society of Periodontology Prize and the WA College of Dental Science Restorative Dentistry Prize in 2002. Prior to joining the Kalamunda community in August 2008, Ania gained valuable experience and knowledge working at a several private metropolitan practices.

Ania's dream is to establish a dental environment in which patients feel comfortable, welcomed and relaxed. Though her true passion is Cosmetic Dentistry, Ania continuously strives for perfection in all dental aspects and aims to provide patients with excellent and painless dental treatment. She encourages her patients to play an active role in their dental care and always does her best to reassure and educate them on their dental health.

Ania is constantly updating her clinical knowledge and has recently completed courses in: Digital Dental Photography, Dental Practice Management, Aesthetic Composite Veneers and Restorative Implantology, just to name a few. Ania is a member of the ADA and is registered with AHPRA.

Ania is married to Neil Drouet, who is a physiotherapist at Mead Street Physiotherapy in Kalamunda. Due to Ania's line of work, Neil has a special interest in treating acute and chronic jaw joint problems, especially related to tooth grinding.

Outside of work, Ania has a keen interest in landscape photography and some of her favourite photographs are displayed throughout the practice. She also enjoys the great outdoors including hiking and camping, and completed 2 half marathon in 2010 and did a team entry in the Busselton 70.3 Ironman 2011. Ania loves entertaining family and friends and recently has moved to the Hills area as she feels so welcome and at home here.

Dr Yeshani Chandraweera

Yeshani mugshotYeshani spent most of her early days living in Geraldton, before moving to Perth in 2007 for university. She has recently completed her Bachelor of Dental Science at UWA and is just as excited and eager to join the friendly team at Kalamunda Dental, as we are to have her.

In the clinical environment, Yeshani thoroughly enjoys getting to know her patients and forming a comfortable rapport and environment with them.

Outside of work, Yeshani enjoys spending time with family anf friends. She also loves catching up on the latest movies. Yeshani also plays the piano and likes to pretend she is in a band with friends.

Stefani Cohen - Practice Manager

Stef MugshotStefani completed her Dental Chairside Assisting (DCA) qualification in 2006, while working full-time "on-the-job" at Yokine Dental Centre. Due to her bubbly personality and eagerness to learn, this followed on quickly by training in Front Office skills, which Stef discovered a real passion for.

After four years of working between both Chairside Assisting and Front Office at a couple of different practices, Stef joined the team at Kalamunda Dental Care in early 2009. Her continual passion for organization, motivation and leadership, lead Stef into the role of Practice Manager, shortly after she joined the practice.

Since then, Stef has continued to strive for excellence in every aspect of the practice and has helped to motivate the whole team in making Kalamunda Dental Care, not just "a dentist" but "an ultimate dental experience."

Stef's energy, ideas and motivation keep the team working together towards the same common goals, always for the good of all our patients.

Stef is about to commence a psychology degree through correspondence at Edith Cowen University. She is very passionate about one day working with drug and alcohol addictees and helping them get back on track with their lives.
In her spare time Stef enjoys spending time with her family and husband, Kris, as well as reading hundreds of autobiography books and playing with her two cats, Sampson and Delila.

Linley Bastian - Dental Hygienist

Linley Bastian - Dental HygienistAs a child, Linley grew up on a farm in Three Springs, before she moved to Perth to board at PLC. After high-school, Linley originally completed Dental Chairside Assisting (DCA) qualifications at TAFE before continuing on with her dental field education and graduating from The Curtin University of Technology in 2001, with an Associate Diploma in Dental Hygiene.

Over the past 9 years, Linley has gained valuable experience and knowledge in many specialized areas of dentistry including implants and periodontics, which have become Linley's two main areas of interest. Linley has worked at "The Branemark Implant Centre," as well as at a Specialist Periodontic Practice in West Perth and more recently completed many temping positions in general private practice.

Linley has been at Kalamunda Dental Care since early 2008 and with her skills and wide range of experience, she has become an extremely valued member of the team at our practice.

Linley prides herself on her thorough and gentle approach in providing preventive care for all of our patients. She regularly attends continuing education courses to help further educate our patients in oral health and recently attended a course on Smoking Cessation in late 2009.
In her spare time, Linley enjoys sipping on a glass of white wine, catching up with friends or relaxing after a hard day's work at a pilates class.

Ashleigh Smith - Head Dental Assistant

Ashleigh Smith - Dental AssistantAshleigh qualified as a Dental Chairside Assistant (DCA) in 1989 while residing in London for 2 years. Ashleigh gained valuable experience while working at specialized prosthodontic practices in South Africa, giving her a wider knowledge of more complex treatment.

Having a 10 year break from the dental field after the birth of her 2 children Hannah and Ben, Ashleigh got the opportunity to manage her husband's electrical business, gaining valuable skills in business management, book keeping and stock ordering.

After moving to Australia in 2008, with her husband and 2 children and settling into a new environment, Ashleigh decided to rekindle her dental assisting career and discovered her passion for surgical procedures. With her outgoing personality, caring nature and book-keeping background she is a great asset to Kalamunda Dental Care, being not only a great dental assistant, but also being in charge of stock control and ordering.

In her spare time, Ashleigh enjoys the great outdoors and loves going away on camping trips with her family and friends.

Kelly Neylon - Dental Assistant

Kelly MugshotKelly is the most recent addition to the team at KDC. Kelly discovered her interest for Dental Nursing while working as a Pharmacy Technician at Princess Margaret Hospital. Kelly decided to complete her Dental Chairside Assisting training in 2005 through DNA and was honoured a certificate of Excellence in Radiography.

After 3 years of working in the dental field, Kelly moved to Tom Price due to her partner's work. While in the Pilbra, she got the opportunity to be involved in setting up the Pilbra Dental Clinic for the residents of Tom Price and surrounding communities who had not had a dentist for 10 years!!

On returning to Perth in 2009, Kelly got married, built a house in Chidlow and worked at private practices, both in Subiaco and Midland before joining our team. Kelly is passionate about 4-handed dentistry and how this makes the treatment easier and more pleasant for the patient. She is also a good communicator and great at making patients feel comfortable and relaxed in the dental chair.

Kelly loves cooking and in particular baking delightful treats. She loves dining at wineries with friends, as well as camping, and fishing.

Kelly also has a special interest in rescuing animals and birds, as well as fostering mistreated dogs and rehoming them through several fostering agencies. She herself has two staffy dogs: Bindi anad Turbo who are like her children.
